If you are interested in CDN, schedule a parent visit and meet with our Director . During your visit, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and observe classes.
Eligibility Requirements
- Children must reside in East Orange.
- Children must be three- or four-years old by October 1.
Registration is by appointment only. Appointments are available 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Once you have registered your child at the enrollment center, bring the completed registration packet to Community Day Preschool to complete the enrollment process. The registration packet includes:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Record of immunizations
- Universal Child Health Record
- Medical insurance cards
- Completed School Placement Form from the enrollment center
Community Day is a nut-free school
Our kitchen prepares a healthy breakfast, full hot lunch and snack daily. We do not serve any food containing nuts. To keep our school safe for all children, especially those with nut allergies, we have a NO NUT policy. Because of this policy, we do not permit any outside food in our building. For help with your child’s food allergy, we refer you to snacksafely.com
Asthma
Children with asthma must bring their doctor’s prescription and medication to the school before starting in class. Medication is kept in our office for use as directed by your physician.
Before and After Care
Our Before and After School program wraps around the school day to provide a nurturing and safe environment for the children who attend before and after the public-school program.
